October Kid-Friendly Variations

No need to worry about what the kids will eat this month, especially with our super-kid friendly menu options/variations:

  • Beef Filets with Bleu-Cheese Walnut Topping.  Children who eat steak/beef will love these beef filets.  Simply omit topping or serve on the side.
  • Chicken Fricassee.  Omit the onions for the children's portion.
  • Chicken Tetrazzini.  Wonderfully kid friendly!  Feel free to omit onions and mushrooms for the kids.
  • Beef Stew with Biscuits.  Leftovers are great in a thermos in their lunchbox the next day!
  • Cappellini Shrimp with Tomato Cream Sauce.  Kids who eat shrimp will love this dish.
  • Capra Chicken.  Omit the basil from this dish for your little ones. 
  • Chicken Soft Tacos. If your children enjoy Mexican, they will devour these!  If you prefer, leave off the pimentos and scallions for the kid tacos.
  • Crispy Chops with Sauteed Mushrooms.  These pork chops will be enjoyed by all.  You will be able to easily serve the mushrooms on the side.
  • Cuban Roast Pork with Pineapple Mango Salsa.  This pork is so incredibly tender and kid-friendly.  Serve the salsa on the side.
  • Dijon Buttermilk Chicken Breasts.  Kid friendly as is!
  • October Kids Choice.  We made these specifically with your kids in mind!  Choose from Spaghetti Pie with Meatballs or Honey Molasses Drumsticks.
  • Quiches: October Sampler.  We have found that kids prefer our Bacon Broccoli Cheddar variety.
  • Pumpkin Cranberry Bread Pudding.  Some kids may like this dish without the cranberries.
  • Romano Beef.  If your children eat beef, they will enjoy this dish, topped like a pizza pie with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce!
  • Tuscana Chicken.  We will have a Cordon Bleu variation available for you to make half or all of your order kid friendly.

October LF & LC Options

We have so many new recipes on our menu this month that we are still working on nutritionals for a few of the recipes!  So far, the following recipes this month have less than 350 calories, 8 mypoints, or 15g carbs or less per serving.

  • Beef Filets with Bleu-Cheese Walnut Topping
  • Blackened Salmon with Warm Mango Salsa
  • Mediterranean Stuffed Pork Loin
  • Cappellini Shrimp with Tomato Cream Sauce (minus the pasta)
  • Capra Chicken
  • Chicken Soft Tacos
  • Crispy Chops with Sauteed Mushrooms (LF Option)
  • Cuban Roast Pork with Pineapple Mango Salsa
  • Dijon Buttermilk Chicken Breasts
  • Mahi Piccata
  • Quiche Sampler (assumes 1/8 of quiche is a serving)
  • Romano Beef
  • Tuscana Chicken (LF Option)

Nutritional information is calculated based on 6 servings per entree unless otherwise specified.  We use software to calculate nutritional information based on the measures provided in our recipes, and do our best to ensure the information is accurate.  Customization of dishes by guests working in the kitchen can alter these values.  Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have.


October Vegetarian Selections

We will provide tofu as a protein substitute upon request. When requesting tofu or a protein change, please let us know by placing a comment in your session reservation when reserving online. That way we are sure to have the protein substitutions that you are requesting available for you when you arrive!

Entrees that are vegetarian or easily made so this month include:

  • Beef Filets with Bleu-Cheese Walnut Topping (tofu option)
  • Blackened Salmon with Warm Mango Salsa.
  • Chicken Fricassee (tofu option).
  • Chicken Tetrazzini (substitute chicken with mushrooms and onions).

  • Mahi Piccata.
  • October Choice Kids Sampler (Spaghetti Pie without Meatballs).
  • Quiche Sampler - Quiche Florentine variation.
  • Pumpkin Cranberry Bread Pudding.
  • Romano Beef (tofu option).

Kids in the Kitchen!

We are often asked if a parent can bring an older child to Dinner Done.  As parents ourselves, we love to see kids learning how to prepare healthy meals!  Bringing an older child to work with you in the kitchen is no problem, provided the following safety guidelines are met:

·         Your child must be able to work with you the duration of the 2-hour session.  We also ask that no more than two people (per reservation) be working in the kitchen - your child will be your partner!

·         Your child must be tall enough to work with you.  Our counters are standard kitchen-counter sized.  For safety reasons children may not stand on stools in the kitchen, nor are strollers allowed in the kitchen.

·         Your child must follow all normal guidelines in the kitchen – thoroughly washing hands between each table, using spoodles and spoons to work with ingredients, etc.

·         Your child must not be allowed to touch or work with any items that may be dangerous to him or her.  Dinner Done is a working kitchen. It is up to you to ensure your child is with you at all times and is properly supervised.
