Frequently Asked Questions

Is Dinner Done a franchise?

No. Dinner Done is a locally owned and operated Tampa Bay business.

Audra and Dan Nasser first opened the Carrollwood location in February 2004 after testing the idea through informal “Kitchen Sessions” with friends and more focused sessions in a local church facility.

When Dinner Done first opened, we offered 14 entrées each month through our make-your-own-meal classes. Today, we offer 100+ ready-to-cook dishes and continue to make everything locally with our in-house team.

Our Menus and Meals

What are Dinner Done entrées like?

Dinner Done entrees are ready-to-cook dishes made by our in-house prep team using fresh, high-quality ingredients. We freeze them immediately, unless otherwise specified, so they’re ready in your freezer when you need them.

Many entrees can be cooked directly from freezer to oven, while others are quick-thaw/sauté dishes that can often go from freezer to table in about 30 minutes.

Dinner Done has been developing ready-to-cook meals specifically for freezer-to-oven and quick-thaw/sauté preparation since 2004. It’s a unique offering, and it’s our area of expertise.

How do I find the dishes I want to order?

The easiest place to start is our main online store, where you can browse the dishes currently available for pickup or delivery.

You can scroll through the menu, use the search bar if you’re looking for something specific, or use filters to narrow things down by category, protein, cooking method, dietary preference, and more.

How often does the menu change?

Our menu changes a little bit almost every day, especially Tuesday through Thursday when our kitchen prep is most active.

Each month, we introduce a new group of Featured Dishes planned for the month. We also add freshly made batches throughout the month as items sell out – often 10-15 new entrées each week.

Because everything is made in small batches and freshly frozen, availability can change quickly. If you see something you want, it’s a good idea to order while it’s available.

What are your serving sizes?

Most of our entrées serve 2–3 people, unless otherwise noted. Serving sizes are listed on each item in the online store.

For sides, appetizers, desserts, and other items, serving sizes vary by dish and will be noted in the product details.

Can I have my entrées customized?

We prepare our dishes in batches, which helps us keep food waste near-zero and our prices reasonable. Because of our batch process, we are unable to customize individual dishes.

Do you take requests?

Yes, we do. If there’s a Dinner Done dish you’d love to see again, you can search for it using the search bar above the menu filters.

If the dish is not currently available, you can request a notification from that product page. That lets us know you’re interested, and you’ll receive an email if we add that dish back to the menu.

Requests help us plan future batches, but they do not reserve the item or guarantee a specific production date.

Are cooking instructions included with the entrées?

Yes. Each entrée includes specific cooking instructions, and those instructions are also available online.

Cooking times can vary depending on the starting temperature of the dish, as well as your oven, stove, grill, or Instant Pot. For best results, we recommend using an instant-read thermometer to make sure your entree reaches the proper internal temperature.

Where do you get your recipes?

We develop our recipes in-house and have been creating freezer-friendly Dinner Done dishes since 2004.

Our recipe collection includes more than 600 entrée recipes, plus a wide variety of sides, appetizers, brunch dishes, and desserts. Each recipe is designed with our ready-to-cook, freshly frozen model in mind.

We use a variety of suppliers and work carefully to choose fresh, high-quality ingredients that perform well from freezer to oven, stovetop, grill, or Instant Pot.

How is your nutritional information calculated?

Our entrées are hand-crafted in small batches by the Dinner Done prep team. Because of this, nutritional information may vary slightly, even though we do our best to prepare each dish according to our recipe.

Dinner Done uses software to calculate nutritional information and we strive to make it as accurate as possible.

Unless specifically stated otherwise, nutritional information for entrées is calculated based on 3 servings.

Does Dinner Done use organic ingredients?

We do not exclusively use organic ingredients.

We would love to use organic ingredients more often, but they are not always consistently available in the large quantities we need and can be cost-prohibitive for our ready-to-cook meals.

As a general rule, we use ingredients similar to those sold in local grocery stores and used in restaurants. When organic ingredients are available at a reasonable price and make sense for a dish, we may use them, but organic ingredients are not something we promise or advertise.

A family member has a severe allergy. Is Dinner Done OK for them?

Please call us at (813) 264-7700 before placing your order if you have questions about ingredients or allergens in a specific dish.

We work hard to prevent cross-contact, but Dinner Done is not an allergen-free kitchen. We use a wide variety of ingredients in our kitchen, and we cannot guarantee that any dish is completely free from cross-contact with allergens.

For customers with severe allergies, we recommend speaking with us directly before ordering so we can help you make the most informed decision.

In-Store or Curbside Pickup

Can I pick up today?

Yes. Online orders placed before 4pm are scheduled for same-day pickup.

Once your order has been bagged, we’ll send you an email letting you know it’s ready for pickup. If you arrive before receiving that email, that’s fine – we may just need a little time to finish bagging your order.

You’re also welcome to stop by and shop in-store during our regular hours.

How does curbside pickup work?

When you’re on your way, just give us a call at (813) 264-7700. We’ll be happy to bring your order to the car.

How will I know my order is ready for pickup?

As soon as your order is bagged, we’ll email you.

If you don’t see an email from us, check your spam folder or feel free to give us a call at (813) 264-7700.

I can’t pick up my order today. What should I do?

Don’t worry. We’ll gladly hold your order in our freezers.

If you’re delayed more than a few days past your scheduled pickup date, just let us know.

Delivery

Do you offer delivery?

Each Saturday, Dinner Done offers $6.95 Delivery to one Tampa Bay delivery zone.

The easiest way to check whether delivery is available for your address is to choose Delivery as an option in our online store. Available delivery dates will depend on your address and our zone schedule.

If our delivery schedule is not convenient, you may also be able to send an Uber driver using the Uber Store Pickup option in your Uber app. Place your Dinner Done order for pickup, then arrange the store pickup through Uber during our regular store hours.

If you are outside our regular delivery zones, please contact us — we may be able to meet you at one of our zone meetup points.

How does Special 10-Mile Delivery work?

For an additional delivery fee, we may be able to make a special delivery to addresses within 10 miles of our Carrollwood store.

If this option is available for your address, it will appear in the delivery options in our online store. Once your order has been placed, we’ll call to coordinate delivery for a mutually convenient time.

A third-party service may be used for these deliveries.

If you’re unsure whether we can deliver to a specific address, please call us at (813) 264-7700.

I’d like to ship meals to an out-of-the-area address. Do you do that?

We are currently not able to ship meals.

I placed a $6.95 Delivery order. What time will you deliver?

On Friday afternoon, we’ll send you an email with a 1-hour delivery window.

You are also welcome to call us at (813) 264-7700 with any questions.

What if I may not be home when my delivery arrives?

If you will not be home during your delivery window but will be returning soon, you may leave a large cooler in a shaded area near your front door.

Please leave a clear note letting our driver know to place your Dinner Done delivery in the cooler. Because our dishes are frozen, we recommend bringing your order inside as soon as possible after delivery.

If we attempt delivery, you are not home and an obvious cooler/note has not been left for our drivers, we may bring your meals back to the Dinner Done store and keep them in our freezer until you are able to pick up at your convenience.

I forgot you were coming and missed my delivery. What do I do?

If we attempt delivery and you are not home, we may bring your meals back to the Dinner Done store and keep them in our freezer until you are able to pick them up at your convenience.

Payment & Pricing

Is Dinner Done expensive?

Dinner Done is designed to offer a good value for high-quality, ready-to-cook meals.

Many customers tell us our prices are reasonable, especially when comparing portion size, quality, convenience, and ingredients to other prepared meal options, meal kits, takeout, or restaurant meals.

You can view pricing for individual items in our online store.

For information on quantity discounts and our SuperChef Rewards program, please visit Ways to Save.

Where are your prices?

You’ll find the price for each dish listed in our online store.

What credit cards do you take?

Dinner Done accepts all major credit cards.

Can I pay with a check or cash?

Dinner Done does not accept checks. If you’d like to pay for your order with cash, please call us to place your order. We’ll be happy to place it for you so you may pay at pickup.

Delivery orders must be prepaid, as our drivers are not equipped to take payment.

Do you store my credit card information?

No. Dinner Done does not store your credit card information on our website or servers. If you choose to save a card for future orders, your payment information is securely stored and managed by PayPal, our payment processor.

SuperChef Rewards

What is a SuperChef point?

SuperChef points are part of our SuperChef Rewards program.

Each time you place an order of $99 or more, you’ll earn 1 SuperChef point. When you earn 3 SuperChef points within a 4-month period — in other words, three orders of $99 or more — we’ll automatically add a $30 store credit to your Dinner Done account.

Please note: SuperChef points are awarded when your order is picked up or delivered, not when the order is placed.

SuperChef points can only be awarded when you are logged into your Dinner Done account at checkout. If you check out as a guest, our system is not able to award the point.

Store credit and gift cards used toward a purchase do not count toward the $99 order minimum.

Do SuperChef points expire?

Yes. SuperChef points are valid for 4 months.

You can check the expiration date for your points in the  SuperChef Points area of your Dinner Done account.

Where is my SuperChef point?

SuperChef points are created by our system once your order has been marked as picked up or delivered.

If your order has not been picked up or delivered yet, the point will not appear in your account. If you believe a SuperChef point is missing, please let us know and we’ll be happy to check it for you.

How do I use $30 SuperChef Reward?

Once you earn 3 SuperChef points within a 4-month period, our system will automatically create a $30 SuperChef Reward store credit and attach it to your Dinner Done account.

You can view your available credit in the Store Credit & Gift Cards area of your Dinner Done account.

When you check out, any available store credit will be clearly shown as a payment option.

Past Order Information

Can I see past orders?

Yes, as long as you were logged into your Dinner Done account when the orders were placed.

You can find your past orders in the Orders area of your Dinner Done account. Click on an order to view details such as dish descriptions, nutritional information, and cooking instructions.

At Home

Will all this food fit in my freezer?

Yes, most orders fit easily in a standard freezer. We use an assortment of disposable pans and freezer bags to help make storage as convenient as possible.

If you’re placing a very large order, we recommend making a little freezer space before pickup or delivery.

What is the best way to thaw my entrées?

Many Dinner Done ready-to-cook entrées can go straight from the freezer to the oven. If a dish needs to be thawed first, please use one of these safe thawing methods: in the refrigerator, in cold water, or in the microwave.

Do not thaw food on the kitchen counter or at room temperature.

Pro Tip: If you need to quick-thaw a dish that is in a pan, you can remove it from the pan, seal it tightly in a zip-top bag, and place it in cold water until thawed. Once thawed, return it to the pan and cook according to the instructions.

How long will my meals last in the freezer?

Freezing is one of the best ways to preserve food. When food is kept frozen at 0°F, it can remain safe indefinitely, although quality may decline over time.

For best quality, we recommend cooking Dinner Done meals within 6 months of purchase. If you find a meal in your freezer that has been there longer, and it has remained frozen at 0°F the entire time, it should still be safe to cook and eat.
